Set your sight on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2 Jubilee Bible 2000
“Children as young as 6 being diagnosed with myopia, new study shows…”

As Christ-followers who are leaders, we are called to use our lives and influence to not only recognize, but also to avoid, avert and correct short-sightedness in its many forms. Our perspective is to be shaped not only by a long term view, but also by an eternal one.
Colossians 3:2 urges us to “Set {our} minds on things above, not on earthly things.” The Jubilee Bible 2000 translates this verse, “Set your sight on things above,..”
If we will allow this command to truly shape our professional and personal decision making, I believe we will be continuously evolving into leaders who honour God consistently, serve others faithfully and leave a legacy brilliantly; role-models who radically reduce the risk of short-sightedness not only in this generation but also for the ones to follow.
Admittedly, eradicating short sightedness is a lofty and daunting proposition. But lofty and daunting propositions have never been any match for our God who specializes in doing “exceeding abundantly above all we can ask, think or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20).
Today I want to encourage you to re-calibrate your insight, foresight and hindsight so that you can live, lead and love from a place far beyond “20/20” – a place of anointed clarity!
